Okay, I am having difficulties of what title to put in, my top12 events of this year, 12 months of awesomeness, top 12 of marga's chart, I could go on and on about the number 12, so I decided to make the title 12. Haha. Sorry.

12
I apologize for being minimal. It has been a thing for me these days. I also apologize for my grammar, spelling, and in any case of corrections please message me personally, I do appreciate it J note: my 12 is composed of events, people, ideas, it may not be in order so bear with me.

Love life
Just want to get your attention immediately. haha. This year has been an up and down ride for me, I’m talking about my relationship with Jesus.  Busy schedule made me miss my times with Him. I know that none of us will have that “perfect relationship”, but I do want to (hamdum kag dumot) that I will always be ready to all the expectations He has for me. This coming year will be different, I may have disappointed Him so many times, and I know He might want to break up with me (truly) , but still He holds on because of His unfailing love and that’s why my relationship with God is my topmost priority.

Hurt and loss
You never know when one of your loved ones will permanently never return. I have never experienced anything like that. I still remember leaving the house and feeling so bad not to see my family for a week, I couldn’t imagine losing them for life or any person close to me. Unfortunately, it happened, a very close friend of mine died. A tragedy in New Zealand were Christ church was hit by an earthquake, young as I am she was one of the most adventurous people I know, smart and a friend you can just enjoy talking with. My friend Louise Amantillo will always be in many hearts.

In the midst of suffering, trust that either your burden will lighten or you’ll receive the strength to endure. The way to get beyond suffering is to go through it- with your hand in God's.

Minimalist
It makes life easier. Keeping things organized and clean saves you 90% of your time. Time, which you could do a lot of productive things with. Yearly, I give clothes, which I don’t use anymore. Here is a picture of my cabinet,

I really wanted it to be just beiges and clean light colors, basic things. I adhere to simplicity, just have things that you need J

Kids
Everyone has their passion; doctors have the passion to save lives, singers/songwriters to impart their story in a song, architects to make beautiful structures, teachers to impart their knowledge. Mine is just simply kidsJ it has been for a long time already and I know God has His plan for me. Kids/ children are such an inspiration; they see life in a very different perspective. Being one of the ‘grown ups’ made me be more interested with them and how I can be of help to them.
In our church  (Christ Centered Fellowship) we help kids, here is our site www.brownpaperbag.org.ph it is a five-month old baby project of me and my friends at church. We are just so blessed that there are numerous hearts who have the love for kids and  have the passion to help them. To God be the Glory J

with mayad family, tita terry, pastor mark, ta nene, the cool pink clown and the kids of brownpaperbag :)

Go organic
I am a non-pork eater since my fourth year in college. It was difficult at first because I could eat a whole plate of lechon (pork/ pork skin) Really! That was I before. Vegetables and fruits are my best friend today, but I do cheat at times and eat junk food.boo.  I am a big fan of nutristar, safari, cheez it, and all the good junky stuff! But this year I, in my greatest might would try to stop eating or just gradually delete it on my diet.  Many would ask if I am doing this for dieting, yes, it is a lifetime thing for me. Maybe, it is weird for others but I stand up for the decisions that I make. I would like to have this kind of lifestyle because I would still like to help others, and in order to help others, you must be healthy and equipped physically, mentally, spiritually, and I believe that healthy way of eating has a big impact J note: I am also a crazy fan of tea drinks, I could drink yakult greentea everyday!

My Mayad
This topic has been blogged the most by me. I’m sure, that’s how obsessed I am about my family in mayad and how I love my work. 3 years in the making and still alive at mayadstudios. Haha! Probably one thing that keeps me motivated and acceptable to change is because of the versatility and over powering creativeness of the company.  I have expressed gratefulness in so many ways and  mayad has never let me down nor the people in it.  For this year and to many days to come, mayad will always be a part of me. Check out our Christmas video : www.mayadstudios.com

Goodbye bad habits
Everyone has it. Yes.  I have this bad habit of not taking a bath after a shoot and just go directly to bed. Yeah, I’m disgusting.haha. I love eating chips before I sleep.  I love assuming things (tsk tsk). Perfectionist to the extent of hurting myself. And I think many more. Haha! So this year, I’m sure everybody has his or her own lists as well! God bless on it guys!

Travel light
Let’s say we are privileged to be travelling.  And I guess travelling light just avoids you to a lot of hassle. One thing that I have learned from traveling is the art of using ‘ziplock plastics’ yes, they are lifesavers; they save a lot of space in your luggage, so it’s a great buy! Compartmentalize everything; from your hygiene kit to your shoes, speaking of shoes, I suggest to bring just one pair; one that you are most comfortable with. Another, always have a camera, may it be slr or your camera phone just bring it!

capture awesome ones!

And ofcourse don’t ever forget your handy dandy emergency kit- medicine to ointments. Always be prepared!
J

Environment
Less is more.  This line says everything. We are very selfish creatures and we like have more in life. So this affects everything and of course our environment. I guess this is one of my 12 because I would like to have a good place to live for the future generation. And knowingly in our simply ways we could make a change.  I think I don’t need to enumerate everything, its self-explanatory. Save our environment, it is our responsibility.

should be cool to see more houses like this :)

Selflessness
You could see above, how selfish I am because it is all about myself. Selflessness for me is a struggle, with the expectations of people around you, who do you please? It’s them and yourself. Which I believe is so pathetic (sorry for the term). I am just so upset with myself because it has always been about me, and this is a change that is top most on my list.  I know that being a Christian one must be selfless, and as Jesus as my example, I know the struggles that I’ll face, and the consistency that I have to battle with. But I know it will be all worth it.

Change
The year is ending and this is the word I’m sure is all on your list.  Constant.

People who made an impact
Simple people with big hearts.  People who I know helped in Iligan and Cagayan de oro, in their own big/little ways. People who put others first than of themselves.  People who are selfless and make other people happy. I could go on, I could even place specifics.
It is not what you have gained, but what you have imparted. May this 2012 be more of getting things straight, making lives easier through helping each other live simply. I should stop here, I don’t want to sound all goody and stuff but this is just a prayer. For everyone, whoever we are, we matter.
 HAPPY NEW YEAR

what my heart says this christmas

"These past few days has been memorable. I am grateful for the hearts of people and how they think of others "

While writing this, I am listening to an awesome single by Hillsong entitled "born is the king- it's christmas" and I can't contain the happiness in my heart.
Everyone is busy, I am guilty of that too. We tend to think of what gifts to buy for our loved ones, what costume we should wear for the christmas party, what food to prepare, what song to sing during christmas caroling, more and more thinking of the busy activities that we do during the holidays. but what struck me was that there are hearts who give much more importance to what really christmas is.

Christmas is a manifestation of unselfish love.

One beautiful woman that I know, a mom of a friend. She is awesome, she thinks beyond herself, its always others and rarely of herself. She is a great example of christmas. Everyday christmas.
She makes people happy everyday, especially children.

I would always say, "when I grow up, I would like to be just like her."
Everyday she works for others, helping them with their everyday lives, young mothers and their infants, her heart is just so beautiful.

Being busy with our lives, or just thinking that we are busy with our lives, we should stop for a minute and assess what christmas truly is. It is about freeing yourself with all the thought of "christmas-y stuff" and simply feel christmas, what's around you, people you help in a small way, like making them smile to doing their laundry, this may sound cheezy but everyday could be christmas when your heart is at it :)

The birth of Jesus, who made us to His image. and His heart. may we use it, not just this christmas but in all the days of our lives.:)

merry merry christmas to everyone!

selflessness

kids at christ centered fellowship in Iloilo

I must DECREASE, so that HE might INCREASE
I have been working this past few days and had the chance to stop on a very interesting article, that I shared to most of my girl friends (setapartgirl.com)
All my life, I have always thought of my dreams, accomplishments, travels, all about me. and it got to the point that it wasn't healthy anymore. one great example would be changing my hair color, there was no contentment on my part, of what the Lord gave me, with all the realizations and all the changing, Im back to my natural color. but enough of the hair thing, the point is how you have got to end thinking of yourself all the time.

As Christians we are told to love ourselves, but it seemed to have gotten too far, that we become selfish.
I am a self proclaimed selfish person, yes I am, and I am never proud of it.

While thinking of writing this, my heart has never been ready to let go, to let go of myself.
I am a daughter of Jesus and I will walk the battle with Him.

I know that  there are a lot of temptations, and I really don't know how I can handle it, but in my heart...
courage, faith, grace, humility, love and Jesus by my side I know Joy will always prevail.

There is a time I'll get crashed, most especially those who you can't please, but it is not about them, it is all about Jesus. and so I am very ready.

my heart for you Jesus.

i am ready for the battle.

the dog watcher

THE DOG WATCHER OF MAYAD STUDIOS JELEN V.

JELEN V.
She is the one. Yes she is! The one and only. A woman to be feared, a woman to be respected, to be loved, a woman of God.

she is called jee/gigi by her family, jelen by her friends and 'madaame jee in mayad. :)

When Jee is around you would always hear her laugh, giggle or either she is over dosed of CHICKEN, her favorite food and only food that makes her happy.
so, i beg you don't feed her chicken!

random dog we saw, bored to death

this is her first time, but it doesn't seem like it :)

Jee, may be many things to other people,
but for me she is just the best friend you will find-
real and self-less.
I respect her greatly, she is faithful to everything, to her work, to her friends, to her love (hehehe) and to our Lord.

jee, why dog watcher? she is always there. she always makes sure, she always wants the best, because she is just the best herself!
we love you jee, I'm so happy and proud to be your co-worker, your  friend, your sister in christ :)

forever i will be faithful to him.

I'll be faithful to finish what Jesus has began in us.

today, was different.
the message I heard in church today, reminded me of what life is really all about,
and it is starting and finishing with Him, faithfully.

I didn't make any kodego or list of what the pastor shared but somehow it just stayed with me, usually I really tend to forget things, easily I tell you, but today I have this to share :)

faithfulness.

1. having quiet time with Jesus
- we tend to be very busy with our lives, making money, working, we are lured
by earthly desires that we blind ourselves. I can't say that I have always been consistent.
I have not been, so trust me, be with me through this challenge of consistency.

2.  do whatever pleases him, not others- it will never be a fulfillment if you keep on doing things to get attention from people,
let's be honest here, there will be a time they'll forget it. yup, and it's only Him, above who remembers
everything.

3. it is what we do in our everyday lives (e.g in paraphrase)
- the small things that we do changes things in a big way- faithfulness in work, meeting deadlines or doing extra work
without being told :)
-family life, especially spouses (what you have promised to each other)
faithful mother, like my mum who has always been there for us (below is a picture of her with me)
faithful father, would never ask for any papa like my papa, a faithful father till the end!

with my mum, an example of a true faithful mum to us,  her family ^___^

papa would always prepare breakfast for me :) even until now, my favorite yogurt with bread and strawberry jam :)

simple things like what my parents do is a great example of a faithful person.
loving unselfishly.

today, is just a different day.
talked to a friend who just made faithfulness seem one of the best trait one could have.

faithfulness to our Lord.

thank you - unnamed friend
and of course, thank you Lord :)

after work, went directly to the market to buy the ingredients, haha. this dish was supposedly salmon, but there was none available, so i made some changes.

" i like the fish with the yogurt and cucumber dressing, but the fish lacks salt- im just a salty person" but she enjoyed every bit. hhaha!
