ways to renew yourself ( readers digest january issue) with simple modefications

I am very inspired by this article so here goes...

1. REFLECT
If you are not sure where to start, take a look at your life in a number of persepectives: relationships, money, work, health, creative, soul, home.
be specific. what actions can you take to improve them? think big and think small.

make a wishlist. write it freely. organize what is possible, miracles, short term, medium term and so on.

your life in a day. write a summary of what's going on in your world. you can write about your job, your family, what's bugging you and what you are thrilled about.

"If I have a year to live" what you would do if you knew time was running
Always remember: be specific, measurable, attainable, and time specific.

2. REFRESH
going back to nature is too radical for most of us, but there are many other ways to savour simple things.

do one task at a time.
say no more often.
don't let the phone interupt meals or other special times.
consider a blank day in the diary a necessity.

take SLEEP SERIOUSLY.
take occasional risks
count your blessings!
Schedule your important tasks
deal with urgent problems first
do things when you best perform them

3. RESOLVE
making resolutions are easy but keeping them is whats difficult.
so you need to have:
motivation, resolutions must be realistic, practical and from the heart.

4. RELATE
be assertive not aggressive. willingness to honestly express thoughts, feelings and wants in a way that also takes into account the rights of other people. it is an idea based on equality- other peoples interest and rights maybe important, but so are yours.
talk it over.giving vent to your feelings rather than keeping them, express your concerns, acknowledges that problems exist and gives you a chance to fix them.

5. REINVENT

TRY SOMETHING NEW. CHANGE IS IMPORTANT. it maybe in your spending, your work, your lifestyle, your skills

6. REDUCE

lessen the burden by sharing the household chores, set housework goals, prioritize
" in every job that must be done, there is an element of fun" mary poppins

7. REASSESS

lack of planning. procrastination costs, especially when it results in cash sitting low earning bank accounts, high interest debts on credit cards or delaying a savings plan.
overspending. at least you must save 10 percent of your salary
credit balance. for me, just avoid using it.

8. REDEPLOY

there are always jobs out there.
network. get the word out that you are looking for work.
scan. there are always newspapers
use the internet.

9. RELAX

level your head. and open your eyes. focus on the spot. count backwards with your breath. staring at five. gradually close your eyes with each breath, until one they are shut.

shrugging it off. RAISE YOUR SHOULDERS TO YOUR EYES. HOLD FOR A COUNT OF FOUR THEN DROP BACK TO NORMAL. REPEAT A FEW TIMES, VARYING WITH SHOULDER ROTATIONS.

as light as a cloud. focus on your breathing, be conscious as you inhale and exhale and feel your mind open up. as your breathing becomes calm and regular, imagine the breath is a cloud entering you, filling you up then leaving your body.

10.then there is always... REBEL (my favorite! :) marga)

time to let go! don't always stick to what is common. eat spaghetti using your fingers, just plainly goofy stuff that you would like to do. its your time to shine people!haha!
