cooking 101

this is fish fry in olive oil, with yogurt cucumber dressing and sliced eggplant simmered with olive oil, black pepper and salt to taste 

besides eating and editing, now, i tried to cooking, my healthy dishes :)

after work, went directly to the market to buy the ingredients, haha. this dish was supposedly salmon, but there was none available, so i made some changes.

and my friend/ now food critic jee, had the first bite. she told me to say this: 

" i like the fish with the yogurt and cucumber dressing, but the fish lacks salt- im just a salty person" but she enjoyed every bit. hhaha!

23. these things i do, i know it sounds selfish but its something i want to do for love, its being thankful for the life that HE has given us. ill make it a point to give it all back to HIM!

the dreamer.

aleyn comprendio. well known for her amazing talent and creativity but behind the lens, she is someone amazingly beautiful. a cinematographer and editor of mayad studios, she is more to me, to us. she is a person with amazing faith. 

i still remember the time she was struggling with a health problem, that was the time i really saw how strong she was. she didn't want her family, people close to her to be affected, so she just hid it through her happy dispositions. i applaud her for being that strong, but we would like to tell her that we are always here for her and so we did during those days. we don't want to lose such a wonderful person.

behind the lens and working with her is just so fun. we do it for the passion and for Jesus. she would always say "bahala na" or come what may but we would always laugh and see how the pictures would turn out great! that's shake, pure talent.

she is a happy go lucky person, does not care what other people say about her, what matters is that she knows that what she does is good for her and for the people around her.

facts about aleyn c: 

she is not a fan of chinese food that much, she loves eating meat and rice, especially pork, she enjoys eating fast food, sweets, so when you ask her about her exercise regimen, she just eats period. hehe ;)

she tends to forget things (short term memory problem), so you need to remind her from time to time.

she loves old songs, the beatles, pastel colored stuff,

bikes, beds, cute and girly things.

in the office she would be teased "dreamer" because of her dreamy works, 

well that makes her who she is and we are proud of her, though teasing is kind of our way of endearment.

as a friend, she would always be there.

so when you see her awesome works it is just a reflection of how she is.

but for me shake would be an artistic editor, passionate photographer and a faithful servant.

* It has been two years that I was given the privelege to join this company.

A company that surpassed all my expectations.

It all started with a knock on their office door and scavenging for food! haha

I was a sales operation manager of Avon under my mum before I became one of them. I enjoyed doing my job but some circumstances

lead me to question " was being a manager my calling?" this made me hang out more in their office- very often and of course more food :)aha aha.

this made me realize that what they are doing was so similar to what i wanted when I first decided to take my course during college and that was in line with creativity and filming.

*months passed and fiel (one of the owner) asked me if I wanted to go partime and I happily said yes! one of the best decision i did and not just that, deciding to be part of their team- april 1, 2009 was the best! though I would joke around that it was april fools day,

i am not certainly a fool for joining the MAYAD TEAM.

now, i said the word- MAYAD. haha

joining, was such a blessing!

* starting the job

it was certainly a challenge. i had to start from scratch and listen to the seniors. shooting and editing- hearing it you would say "hey, thats an easy job" but I could certainly say that it requires hardwork, preseverance and a whole lot of heart.

mayad is all about creativity and it is something you work on everyday. It is not constant, thats what makes it exciting and difficult- both at the same time.

my take on creativity is to listen, observe, and instincts as well as being open to other people's ideas.

you may have a brilliant idea but shared and working with others on it would define its brilliance.

"shared success is such a fulfilling experience than of success on your own.

*this is why MAYAD IS DIFFERENT. we perform and share successes as a team.

it is not all bliss, we have our moments- drama,comedy and my fave adventure!

i dont know i just have this feeling deep inside me that i just love them all. eventhough i could be bad with food, have my serious,laughing,stupid,langka moments -

i just know that i feel so blessed to have these people in my life.

eventhough we are busy, i would just like to thank the mayd family.

keep head strong, eyes and heart on HIM.

for He is the reason why we are what we are doing.

it has been a while, but i got the chance to blog today. yey.
(cheery disposition)
some realizations came to me while reading a book entitled "the dream giver" by bruce wilkinson
it talks about leaving your comfort zone and realizing your dream but then once you have realized your dream you have to give up to what is most important- the dream giver.


but before that i just need to share this:


a great message had touched me when I had the chance to go to CCF manila last sunday. and it states:


- Honor God, in your every response-
 be responsible with your response


we are proud people, we fight back when we think we are right. we easily get hurt when people criticize and judge us.
this sounds familiar because each and everyone of us has these feelings.
it really hit me, Jesus is just so timing with everything.
 one night, I prayed so hard when I felt that I was not that person I think I was.
we do have our mistakes and one thing that I have learned- Honor God in your every response.


when you know you're wrong, accept it.
Jesus made people who will help you in life- people who are good and those who are bad.
this post I would really like to share because it made quite an impact.
it strengthens me, it gives me light to what's important-
it really does and I thank Jesus for that, hands up!
it was the first time I felt His comfort.
comfort of love and hope.
it just made me cry,
because I felt his love!


I just got so much to share, I may not be as well versed but deep inside my heart, I would like to share His love, Jesus' love to us.
how he does wonders! :)


He is not just there for us in times of our troubles, He is just there, waiting for us to call upon HIM. how amazing He is.
everyday, it seems that he makes me want to be like him more.
letting me realize my dream and for Him to be there, makes all the sense. its not about what I would achieve or please others, its how I will please the dream giver.


we are just a piece of the whole masterpiece.

one of the best christmas i have ever had! i am so happy to have great friends, great people around me ( my brother who helped, i love you so so much! to the ccf family you have all been a great inspiration! sister tery and sister fatima!, to Mayad, thank you for being a gift to me, i truly believe that you are one way of making dreams come true! :)
